an {almost} winter walk

037 (2)
It’s been colder than usual around here for what seems like weeks (we had our first rain in ages today)—the perfect opportunity for some outdoor exploring.  We found patterns in frozen puddles,
036
listened to the ice crunch under our feet,
039 (2)
collected many sticks (one resembling the letter “Y”),
042 (2)
hiked our way to the bottom of the hill,
045 (2)
and back up again with many “little breaks” and “deep breaths” in between.

The untrained eye would not notice that both “a gopher and a beaver” had “dug their homes” in the bank beneath his feet.  Winking smile
We should most definitely do this more often.

  1. Looks like you had fun together. Love that icy top photo. Our nature walks have been temporarily put on hold - frigid temps and busyness of the season has not helped. I hope to dive back into nature walks or at least an indoor nature study for winter again.

  2. Oh boy was that cold, clear, crisp weather awesome. It felt so weird when we had our first rainy day.

Looks like a fun little walk...
